3 (3 + 0) This course employs a life-and-times approach to the study of Richard Nixon, the members of the Kennedy family (with emphasis on John and Robert) and the historical events that shaped the lives of Nixon and the Kennedys or were influenced by their lives. The larger story of modern American history is woven around the lives of these individuals who have played a prominent part in that history. Family backgrounds, childhoods, and public careers are all considered in the biographical aspects of this course.
