3 (3 + 0) Corequisite: HCM 3010 This is a course that is designed to provide a general orientation to management practices in the field of health care. The focus is on management concepts, processes, and theoretical content considered necessary for persons who intend to practice in a health care management position. Emphasis is placed on the differences in management of health care from other commodities and the importance of patient care and ethical issues. Trade-offs between patient care issues and financial accountability are addressed.
