3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: Minimum performance standard scores on reading, writing, and mathematics preassessment placement tests An introductory course that investigates contemporary health issues. Emphasis is placed on those health issues that most frequently confront the college student. Subjects surveyed are current biological, psychological, sociological, and cultural factors that influence health in a changing society. Personal involvement in planning health improvement behaviors is encouraged through experiential learning. (General Studies-Level II, Social Sciences)
