3 (3 + 0) Prerequisite: Satisfaction of Level I General Studies requirements This course is intended for non-English majors who plan a career in elementary education or who have a general interest in the subject of children's literature, that is, writing intended for an audience ranging from pre-readers to early adolescents. This course will survey the genres and the history of such literature, including various oral traditions and current issues.
