The course provides the student with a broad outline of key topic areas that encompass the study of forensic science. It emphasizes the application of forensic sciences and its role in criminal investigation. Topics include the scope, history and basic methods of evidence recognition, collection, identification and preservation. Basic forms of physical evidence most commonly encountered at crime scenes are discussed along with their respective value in the investigative process. Prerequisite: LAW3075.
