This course is based on the belief that the study of insurance, a major tool in risk management, should be preceded by an understanding of procedures and concepts of risk management. The balanced treatment of both risk management and insurance provides a broad introduction to the field. Risk identification, analysis, measurement, control and financing are described and analyzed. Insurance markets, functions, coverage and benefits are examined and an in depth study of the role of insurance in our present world is made.
