Description: This course is driven by the initiative and interest of the course members, on the basis of group decisions. Student-led discussion will be followed by a practical activity related to site development and site documentation. Field activity at the Biosphere 2 Research Facility (transportation provided) is built into the schedule as appropriate. The research goal is to document and investigate controls of vegetation on water, carbon and energy cycling as measured using eddy covariance and other micrometeorological techniques. Grading: Regular or alternative grades can be awarded for this course: A B C D E or S P C D E. Course includes 1 or more field trips. Identical to: HWR 696Q, RNR 696Q. Usually offered: Spring.
