Description: Course content varies by semester. Focus topics may include Ottoman Turkish, and other areas in Turkish language, literature, culture, history and society. Graduate-level requirements include an extra project selecting an Ottoman text related to their research interests, and submitting a short paper summarizing their findings, discussing linguistic challenges presented by the text, and containing a translation of part of the text. All projects must be approved by the instructor in advance. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Prerequisite(s): Consent of instructor. May be repeated: for credit 6 times (maximum 7 enrollments). May be convened with: TURK 410. Usually offered: Fall.
