Description: Students will develop a philosophy of teaching English and transform theory and core course content into pedagogy by preparing teaching portfolios, developing teaching units and lesson plans that include writing assignments, and applying principles of curriculum design. Graduate-level requirements include for each unit, production of a portfolio with lessons, a bibliography, and statement about the goals of the unit. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Typical structure: 2 hours lecture, 1 hour discussion. Identical to: ENGL 517A; ENGL is home department. May be convened with: TTE 417A. Usually offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
