Description: This course provides an overview of the theory and practice of environmental sustainability as it relates to PK-16 schooling. It will explore the ecological design and construction of educational facilities, landscaping, food services, consumerism, and the importance of vernacular knowledge. The course will include a service learning component. Graduate-level requirements include a 20-page essay that integrates themes from the various books read throughout the semester. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Course includes 1 or more field trips. May be convened with: TTE 460. Usually offered: Spring.
