Description: In this course, we will discuss the fundamental physical and mechanical properties of soils and use them in the design of simple foundation and earth retaining systems. We will use certain fundamental principles of solid mechanics and fluid mechanics to describe the mechanical behavior of soils. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E.
