Description: This course focuses on biological remediation techniques for inorganic contaminants (nitrogen and sulfur-containing compounds, iron, heavy metals, metalloids and radionuclides). The course explores fundamental chemical and biological processes as well as engineering aspects. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Prerequisite(s): Prior course experience with biochemistry (eg. CHEE 450) or microbiology (eg. CHEE 577) is recommended but not required. Usually offered: Spring.
