Description: This online course for secondary science teachers will examine what we know about the conditions on the early Earth and how those physical conditions may have contributed to the origin of life. The course will utilize podcasts of public lectures presented by various faculty in the University of Arizona College of Science, coupled with directed readings and activities to place these topics in context and relate them to the middle and high school biology standards. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Prerequisite(s): 18 units of biology courses. Must be a middle-or high-school science teacher. Usually offered: Summer.
