Overview of the tropical ocean-atmosphere system, ENSO theory, observations, predictive modeling and impacts; paleoclimatology; and evolution of ENSO in a greenhouse world. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Prerequisite(s): prior coursework in oceanography, meteorology and climatology will be helpful.
