Description: This course examines the theoretical and methodological issues related to museum studies. Topics will include the history of display, changing roles of museums, museums and communities, the politics of collecting, and exhibition design. This is a Writing Emphasis Course. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Prerequisite(s): ARH 201, ARH 202, or consent of instructor. Satisfaction of the Mid-Career Writing Assessment (MCWA). Typical structure: 2 hours lecture, 1 hour discussion. May be repeated: for a total of 9 units of credit. May be convened with: ARH 500. Usually offered: Fall, Spring.
