Description: This course introduces fundamental theories, principles, and practices of 3D digital modeling, rendering, and rapid prototyping. Students are given a thorough overview of 3D modeling techniques including: production of geometric and organic surfaces and forms using both NURBs and polygon construction, texturing, and lighting. Minimal materials fee for rapid prototyping assignment. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Special course fee required: $50. Prerequisite(s): Portfolio or indication of adequate computer experience. Minimal materials fee for rapid prototyping assignment. May be repeated: for credit 1 time (maximum 2 enrollments).
