Description: A lecture survey dealing with the origins and evolution of communal ordering systems. A variety of critical attitudes are developed with which current and historic settlement patterns are visually compared to discover spatial attributes as a dimension of human experience. Graduate-level requirements include a more in-depth research background that could result in an extended final paper. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E.
