Description: This is a continuation of ARB 427A-527A. The focus is on spoken rather than Standard written Arabic, and will target oral/aural skills, speaking and listening. Knowledge of Arabic orthography is not required, as the text is in phonetic transcription. Graduate-level requirements include a weekly conversational hour outside of class or alternatively lead 15 minute interactive sessions each class. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. Prerequisite(s): Native speakers of any Arabic dialect must have instructor permission. May be convened with: ARB 427B.
