Topics include folk medicine, traditional medical systems, distinctive illness and public health problems, patterns of resort in the use of pluralistic medical resources, and the way in which the practice of biomedicine has been adapted to regional culture. Explores the medical cultures of Mexico and Latin America, Native America, Africa and Asia. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E.
