3 hours. Prerequisite: Admission to PTEP. Corequisites: CEE 320, BEP 305, BEF 362, MUE 385, and SPE 300. Study of the reading process and of the methods and strategies employed in teaching reading at the early childhood, elementary, and middle school levels. Basic concepts are studied, and methods of teaching word attack and comprehension skills are emphasized.
