The course examines the root cause of Mexican immigration to the U.S. as well as the rhetorical and public policies that have built physical and symbolic walls between the two cultures. Student will also learn about the educational and torrid activist work of "bridging" organization in the U.S. that have attempted to promote understanding and advocate for the human rights of immigrants.
