Within the context of drug and alcohol counseling this course stresses boundaries for professional therapeutic relationships, guidelines for ethical decision-making, confidentiality and informed consent, clients rights and professional expertise, value neutrality and imposing values as well as equality, inequality and limited resources. This course is required for Maryland certification.
