Prerequisite: LITR 200 level course and ENGL 245. A study of British and American writers from the aesthetes and decadents of the late nineteenth century to contemporary writers. In addition to the reading of selected poetry and novels, the course includes study of key literary and historical movements as well as a critique of the categories of modernism and postmodernism.
