This course is a continuation of Organic Chemistry I, presenting the fundamental concepts, theories, and reactions of carbon-containing compounds. This course emphasizes properties, structure-reactivating relationships, and mechanisms of the major classes of carbon compounds. Special consideration is given to carbon compounds found in living systems. Laboratory experiments demonstrate the practical application of organic concepts.
