A study of real numbers and their properties, exponents, radicals, algebraic expressions, equations and inequalities (linear and quadratic). Special emphasis is placed on the concept of the function and the graph of a function, operations of functions, and inverse functions, polynomials, and rational functions. Prerequisite: M 103 or 1? years of high school algebra. Students must also pass a placement exam.
