Three hours This course is designed to assist students to successfully manage interpersonal relationships with people from differing cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Emphasis will be placed on the social systems, value orientations, and lifestyles of major ethnic minorities in the United States, along with the effects of prejudice, discrimination, and racism. Students will be epected to eplore their own ethnicity and develop a greater understanding of one's origin. In addition, this course will review denominational differences, religion, and the Appalachian region. Open to non-majors.
