Three hours An introduction to the practice of generalist social work. Historical and contemporary principles of the profession are eplored as well as an overview of the theoretical perspectives that inform the profession. Basic social work knowledge and values are reviewed along with the fields of practice. This course is designed to familiarize students with the social work curriculum and profession as well as help them decide if they wish to pursue social work as an area of emphasis.
