Three hours This course will assist pre-service and currently practicing teachers in understanding how language is learned, and therefore in understanding how to better teach the English language. There will be an emphasis on the impact of the theories of second language acquisition on ESL/EFL pedagogy. There will also be an introduction to the teaching of the ESL skill set, based on the most recent or respected research on how each language skill is learned. These skills will include teaching ESL reading, writing, oral/aural skills, and vocabulary.
