Four hours The course will provide the student with an introduction to the chemical principles of environmental systems. Topics will include chemical equilibrium, acid-base chemistry, environmental organic chemistry, heavy metal chemistry, and treatment applications. Three lecture hours and one three-hour laboratory per week. Prerequisites: CHE 221 and CHE 223 with grades of "C" or better or consent of instructor.
