Three hours Investigates the value and importance of comple characteristics of children's families and communities. Eplores the dynamics of family life including courtship, marriage, intimacy, and relationships. Eamines community programs that focus on forming partnerships with families to support child development and family well-being. Builds an awareness of family in contet of a diverse society and uses understanding to create respectful, reciprocal relationships that support and empower families in their child's development and learning. Studies public policies regarding the young child. Required: si hours of field eperience in communitybased family involvement programs such as Family resource and youth services center, PACE, parents as teachers, parent educator programs, etc.
