Prerequisites: COM 250 and typing 30 wpm. Theory and practice of information gathering for print and electronic media writing, including the art of interviewing. Identification, assessing and verifying published, computerized data base and "live" sources. Special emphasis on interview problems such as invalid inference and supposition. Two hours lecture, two hours activity per week.
