3 credit hours Formerly Th 324 Pastoral Leadership. This course focuses on the leadership and communication needed in pastoral ministry situations. Topics include: (1) a vision and praxis of pastoral care and leadership; (2) effective communication and relational skills; (3) church organizational development; (4) professional ministerial ethics in the light of the National Certification Standards for Lay Ecclesial Ministry; ( 5) Church law and civil law in ministry; and (6) portfolio and internship orientation. Prerequisite: Any one of the following: Psy 102, 105, Soc 204.
