This course provides an overview of current theories that will help guide the preservice teacher in the teaching of listening, speaking, thinking, reading, and writing at the secondary school level. Students are encouraged to develop and refine their own theories and philosophies in terms of teaching secondary English within the context of the language arts. Students are expected to develop teaching strategies that reflect best practices in the teaching of English as proposed by NCTE, IRA, and as outlined in the Kentucky Core Content for Assessment.
