This course examines the changing nature of children's media environments, the developmental abilities of children to process the form and content of the media to which they are exposed, and critical issues such as gender and occupational socialization from the media, political acculturation, effects of violence, sex, and advertising, fantasy and reality, and family issues as they relate to media.
