An in-depth analysis of current issues and problems encountered by jail and prison administrators. Topics will include prison design, intervention of the federal courts into administrative matters, prison overcrowding, public perceptions of prisons, the role of correctional officers, the rehabilitative concept of punishment, and specialized and alternative programs.
