This course examines the important precedents established by the Washington Administration, the development of political parties, the expansion of the nation through the purchase and exploration of the Louisiana territory, the War of 1812, the "Era of Good Feeling" and the upsurge of nationalism that prepared the nation for continued growth and expansion.
