The first-year core seminars explore what community means in the Catholic Tradition and in other world religions. Seeking Community examines the relationship between a global faith-based community and culture, how variety in religious practices of a community expresses cultural difference, how the social sciences illuminate the community's understanding of itself, and how the understanding and experience of community bear ethical implications. These questions are explored through the study of Catholicism, Buddhism, Hinduism and other great world religions viewed as multi-cultural communities.
