This course will include a detailed study of Absolutism, its proponents and critics, the effect of empirical science on social life [from new birthing practices to inoculation] and the science of warfare as used by the Habsburgs, Bourbons, Hanovarians, Romanovs and Hohenzollerns in the interest of state.
