This course will focus on Shakespeare's comedies, his comic characters, and his late plays, those we've come tocall romances. Readings may include The Comedy of Errors, Love's Labor's Lost, A Midsummer Night's DreamThe Merchant of Venice, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It, Twelfth Night, The Winter's Tale, Pericles, Cymbeleine, The Tempest, and the occasional play by one of Shakespeare'scontemporaries.
