FALL An introduction to the historical and theological background of parachurch ministries and a comparison to church-based ministry. The class will expose students to specialized ministries like homeless shelters, drug rehabilitation facilities, group homes, camps, social service ministries, and chaplaincy programs. There will be an emphasis on understanding the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of these populations, partnerships with local churches, and on the administration side of the ministries through learning about organizational structure, policies, practices, funding, and budgeting.
