SPRING Presents an integrated model of communication using a constructivist approach. Students learn the various methods, techniques, and materials needed for developing all of the communication skills--listening, speaking, reading, and writing--for children from birth through grade six. Needs of the exceptional child are considered; emphasis is on issues, research, NCTE standards, and current practices in reading and the communication arts. Field experience in approved site includes diagnostic testing and instruction. Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education Department.
