The Apocalypse of John is one of the most often read but least understood books of the Bible. In this course students begin to develop an accurate interpretation of John's Apocalypse by examining it against the back-ground of the promises of God in the Old Testament, early Jewish and Christian apocalyptic literature and theology, and the tensions between Christians and non-Christians in the Roman province of Asia during the late first-century A.D.
