Readings may include Federalist and Antifederalist papers, and works by Thoreau, Emerson, Cady Stanton, Anthony, Calhoun, DuBois, Dewey, Addams, King, and Malcolm X. Special attention is paid to political ideas emerging from the struggles for equal rights for all citizens. Prerequisite: Junior standing.
