First semester in the two-semester general chemistry sequence for the sciences. Begins with concepts of atomic structure and develops the principles of modern chemistry. Emphasis on connections between atomic/molecular structure and observed behavior. Students continuing with CHM 116 are advised to take MTH 122 or 125 concurrently with CHM 115.
