After a brief introduction to the basic concepts of exercise physiology this course will explore how physical activity may alter nutrient needs, and the mechanisms by which nutrition influences physical performance. Emphasis will also be placed on the practical implementation of dietary strategies to optimize exercise performance. Offered winter and spring/summer semesters. Prerequisites: (BMS 251 or BMS 290) and (CHM 232 or CHM 461).
