This course provides an overview of the principles and practices of assessment and evaluation in special education. Topics include the purposes of assessment, basic concepts related to evaluation and measurement, types of instruments and procedures for assessing exceptional learners, general procedures for administering and scoring assessment instruments, and guidelines for the interpretation of assessment information. The relationship between assessment information and eligibility criteria are examined. Prerequisite: SPED 520 and Admission to Special Education Endorsement Program. Student must have graduate standing to register for this course.
