3 hrs. This course is designed to provide seniors in electrical and computer engineering with real digital system design experience using the Verilog hardware description language (Verilog HDL). The history of descriptive hardware design and features of hardware description languages are explained along with design and simulation examples. With the use of the industry standard simulation and synthesis tools, designs will be constructed, synthesized, and configured in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) or other Programmable Logic Devices. Experience gained in this class will prepare students to move directly into modern logic design environments. Prerequisite: EE 330
