3 hrs. A course designed to explore historical and modern day applications of chemical principles to the solution of problems and the contribution of chemistry to modern technological achievements. Some field trips to manufacturing facilities and other appropriate chemically-oriented facilities may be scheduled. Not open to chemistry majors and minors as a substitute for CHE 101 or CHE 121.
