Emphasis is on problems caused by man's use of the natural world along with an introduction to the principles of applied and environmental microbiology. Specific topics to be discussed include environmental virology, disinfection of water and wastewater, biogeochemical cycles, biology of waste treatment and biological aerosols. Prerequisite: BIO 103 ( Offered Spring)
