Limits; derivatives of algebraic, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions; applications of the derivative; differentials; maximum and minimum problems; curve sketching using calculus; and the definite integral and its applications to area. This is the first of three courses in the basic calculus sequence taken primarily by students in science, engineering and mathematics. Prerequisite: MTH 113 or satisfactory placement test scores.
